With One Audio Recording, Donald Sterling Loses $2.5 Million and Could Lose a Lot More

“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?”

Those are just some of the words that came directly from Donald Sterling’s mouth on a released recording that seemed to automatically anger millions of people – including professional NBA athletes, owners and fans. With the comments that he made in his audio recording  of a conversation with his girlfriend, he was forced to realize the hard way that some things are better left unsaid. However, the comment of “associating with black people” and many other controversial sound bites that can be extracted from this nine-minute audio recording more than likely be remembered as the straw that broke the camel’s back and nail in his coffin.

According to Adam Silver’s recent statement, Donald Sterling is banned for life from all NBA activities, events and games. This is in addition to the $2.5 million fine. Silver also stated that if everything works out and he gets support from other NBA owners (which he more than likely will), Donald Sterling will be forced to sell the team to someone else so he’ll be completely shut out of the NBA forever. In 20 words or less, he has the potential of losing everything. Wow!
