There are so many different conspiracy theories and urban legends that are told about the Oscars each year. However, the Oscar Love Curse is very real and statistically proven.
A case study that was conducted back in 2011 was able to calculate that women that win the Best Actress awards at the Oscars are more than likely going to get divorced shortly thereafter. The odds of this happening are actually 168 to 1. When you think of many of the most popular actresses that have won this award in the past (i.e. Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, etc.), they all have been divorced. It is very difficult to find a Best Actress winner that did not get a divorce shortly after their Oscar win. Fortunately, the front-runner for the award this year (Amy Adams) is not married yet. She has been in a long-term relationship but no vows have been exchanged. Do you think the Oscar Love Curse applies to common-law marriages and long-term relationships too or just marriages?
