There has been a lot of speculation about Carmelo Anthony joining the Miami Heat for the 2014-2015 season. If that happens, there is a possibility that the Miami Heat could be creating the BIG FOUR instead of just the Big Three that was originally established back in 2010. However, before Heat fans start going crazy with discussions and overall speculation about the Miami Heat being unstoppable next year, let’s take a moment to consider exactly what that would mean if Carmelo Anthony did go to the Miami Heat. Well…what has he been able to accomplish since he got traded to the New York Knicks? What was he able to accomplish with all of the big trades that occurred when he was still playing for the Denver Nuggets? Just in case you lost track – the answer to both of those questions is, “Absolutely NOTHING!”
Yes. If Carmelo Anthony would have been traded back in 2010 along with Chris Bosh and LeBron James – then there would be much more room for excitement and enthusiasm. However, a quick reality check will show you that Carmelo Anthony being traded is the equivalent of getting Greg Oden this season – there are some positives, but many many more negatives. Even though he is older, Ray Allen has proven himself to be more of a valuable asset to the Heat than Carmelo Anthony ever could – be especially since his laundry list of injuries have pitched him closer and closer to an early retirement with each passing season. What do YOU think?
