Instead of Stopping School Shootings, They Want to Give Kids Bulletproof Blankets

There has been an unprecedented number of school shootings within the past few years alone. When you think of the horrifying nature of these unexpected tragedies whenever and wherever they occur, it always requires many people to go back to the drawing board when it comes to keeping these students safe and protected. In most cases, new preventative strategies are developed and implemented into the normal daily routines in order to minimize the risk of school shootings even occurring in the first place. In other cases, though, valuable resources (including time and money) are spent on worthless endeavors that move us two steps farther away from reaching that goal. Recently added to that list of worthless endeavors — bulletproof blankets.

That’s right- bulletproof blankets!  Instead of focusing on developing new and effective methods to prevent or even stop school shootings, a development team in Oklahoma has designed a line of bulletproof blankets known as the Bodyguard Blanket. Therefore, whenever a school shooting occur, students can wrap themselves in these bulletproof blankets. What in the world is going on? What’s even more ridiculous, according to the New York Daily News, is that these bulletproof blankets will cost just under $1,000 and are also helpful for protecting student from tornadoes. HOW?

How is this supposed to protect these children?
