Recent reports have confirmed that Academy Award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York City apartment at 12 PM (Eastern). Hoffman was 46 years old. Based on a report released by the New York City Police Department, his body was discovered at 35 Bethune Street and (as of 2 PM EST) it is still confirmed as being inside of the apartment.
The official cause of death has not been determined yet. However, it is widely known that this actor struggled for years with a major addiction to heroine.
In addition to Hoffman’s critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning role in the 2005 film, “Capote,” he is also known for his captivating roles in such hits as “Mission: Impossible 3,” “Doubt, “Patch Adams” and “Twister.”
