Audi e-bike Worthersee

“Long a proponent of performance and recently an innovator of electrification, Audi is expanding on both with the introduction of the e-bike Worthersee – a prototype bicycle that combines muscle power with an electric drive assist system. Following Audi’s lightweight design principle, the company made Worthersee components such as the frame, swinging arm and wheels out of carbon fibre. The airy frame boasts a low center of gravity and a compact overall volume, to make it agile at the handling limits. The lithium-ion battery incorporated into the frame needs 2.5 hours on a standard home outlet to fully charge. However, on long tours when recharging isn’t desirable because of time constraints, the battery can be removed and replaced with a charged one.” via Autonet
