When your 15 minutes of fame are over, the very best thing you can do is step away from the spotlight. Years later, your publicist might talk you into a brief comeback either through a reality TV series that does not completely invade your privacy (because those never end well) or a cameo appearance on a popular television show (because that could lead to an Emmy nomination which will open more doors of profitable opportunities in the future.) The last thing you want to do is to follow the example of Arnold Schwarzenegger and overdo it. Within the past couple of months alone, we have seen way too much of the former California governor. Super Bowl commercials where he is playing Ping-Pong along with a charitable promotion where Arnold Schwarzenegger crushes things with his tank may have been enough. But he has clearly crossed the thin line that separates moderation from excessive exposure – which is clearly proven by his recent appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” Yes, we laugh at him constantly saying “Get to the chopper!” But, at one point will he realize that more people are laughing at him than with him?
Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to just stop for a moment, take a deep breath and quit. What’s next? Calling up Danny DeVito to make sequels to “Junior” and “Twins?”
