Recently, British F1 racing driver of the Mecedes AMG Team, Lewis Hamilton has expressed his desire to win the Austrian Gran Prix. In a statement from him in dailymail.co.uk, he says, ‘It’s a big challenge for me and something I’m excited about. I grew up playing computer games with this track.”
Regardless, the success of this 30-year old champ has been undoubtedly groundbreaking in the field of racing.
Now, we look at a few more things to know about this racing champ world wonder.
1. He first started competitions with a radio controlled car.
His father had bought him the device in 1991. A year later he joined and won the British Radio Car Association (or BRCA) championship.
2. He wanted to be a footballer.
He is a big fan of the the team Arsenal F.C., and if he hadn’t been into car racing, he would’ve been a soccer player.
3. He has won 2 Formula One World championships.
Those years were in 2008 and 2014.
4. In 2009, Queen Elizabeth awarded him with Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the New Year Honors.
5. At a young age of eight, he started karting.
The number 44 was actually his kart’s number and now it his is race car number.
